About us

We are the Kiekel family: Roy, Kim, Noah, Sierra and Titus. We are now working at a Christian boy's camp called Northern Frontier in the beautiful Adirondack mountians. We will be there until September 15, and plan to leave for India 2 weeks later. We will be living and working in a small village in the state of Andhra Pradesh in southern India called Chillakallu. We will minister in a children's home and a Bible college as well as participating in village outreach programs and conferences. There will also be time spent working in the streets with the poor and the homeless, humanitarian work aimed at bettering the lives of the Indian people, plus opportunities to teach English in the villages. We are excited and encouraged by the outflow of love and support we have received from so many of our friends. God has been overwhelming us with His love through the blessing of His people! We give Him all of the glory!

Acts 26:18

"to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me."

August 13, 2006

Dear friends, There has been much activity here at camp as the season is winding down. We are in our last week and it is hard to believe that camp is almost over. The last two weeks are father/son camp and they are my favorites. We have 2 sessions with different fathers and sons per week, and it is such a joy to see these men spending time with their sons. This must make God smile. We had a special treat this Sunday morning because the Assistant Director, Budd Smith, brought his 7’ Surinam Red-tailed Boa named Pipsqueak and talked about how our Enemy can be subtle but as deadly as a snake. What made it particularly exciting, to me anyway, was that he had asked our son Noah to hold and handle the snake while he spoke. My heart was racing as I watched this 7’ Boa Constrictor wrap around Noah’s neck. He was a real trouper and just kept stroking Pipsqueak as Budd spoke. As you can imagine, the boys loved every minute of it, and I think a few of the dads did too! It was a great sermon and one I won’t soon forget! As camp winds down, much must be done to ready the buildings and grounds for winter. We will be staying on here until mid September and working around camp to help in the preparations. It has been a great camp season, but we are all tired and ready for a break. There will be a 60 year reunion here the last weekend of August and Roy will be the head cook for that as well. But, he will have about 5 days to rest before he must again don his chef’s hat. He and Noah are making big plans for sailing, fishing and camping. We sent away for our visas and appreciate your prayers for a quick and affirmative response. We also got to meet with Jaipaul last week and discuss our itinerary and his plans for us in India. As a result, we are even more excited as the time approaches. Thank you again for your support through prayers and gifts. We had reached our initial goal, but the tickets and our housing in India had increased since we began praying for funds in April. However, your faithful giving has helped bridge that gap and we are forever grateful. May all who come behind us find us faithful! Soli Deo Gloria! The Kiekel’s
